An old clip of Lillian

We shot a more recent video of The Bean but we did it on Meghan's point and shoot holding it like a "portrait". I can't figure out how to rotate it in i-movie, so I decided to post this one from earlier this summer. Enjoy.

Art for SkineXchange, pt 3

I'd be curious to know:
When you are scanning in a moleskine (or whatever), is there a set of adjustments you make each time so it looks the way you want it to on screen?  Even if it's something you fiddle with 'til it looks good, I'd still like to know.

What I do is scan it in at 72 dpi (I'm only using it for the web), play with levels and do the UnSharp Mask filter in Photoshop at 20, 60, 4.

I've not had great luck getting these in order or putting multiple ones in a single post.  These are all works done for the first ever Friends School of Baltimore Moleskine Exchange.  I'm the second artist on these and I'll try to put another post up after they've gone completely through.

These are in no particular order and it only involves the Upper School Art faculty.
Enjoy.

Wooden Flags

This is one of the wooden flags I created from scraps left over from our privacy fence.
This flag was created from old barn-siding.
Both can be hung outside or inside and both are for sale (though the barn-siding is considerably more expensive as the wood is harder to come by).  Please contact me for any further info.

Daycare Cubbies

I'm very proud of these.  They took me about five and a half hours to make.

MVP

Most Valued Possession

Fire extinguisher

Buffalo Bill and Sitting Bull

Craig and Emily

More faculty meeting sketches.

Studio view

A studio view from my MICA days.  I loved working there despite having no AC--the view made up for it.

Dean and Dad

A portrait of a friend from a faculty meeting and one of my dad smoking on the porch.

High on the hog

Well, I was all set to rant and rave about how I was getting no love from skineart because I don't do figurative work, but recently they posted one of my older pieces.
Suddenly I don't feel so crappy anymore.  Thanks, Bunny.

The bald days

A self portrait from a few years ago.

I've been having issues getting these uploaded.

Old Journals

Thought I'd give Skineart another shot with some of my older journal work (since they didn't like my non-figurative pieces).
The Native Americans and tricycle are Xerox transfers.  There's also watercolor, red pen, a piece of my grade book, and the humming bird is drawn.

Lil, 6 months old today

Looking at photography enticed me to take some photos today.  Lil, as always, was a perfect muse.

Privacy Fence

Many are curious as to how this finished.  I plan to re-hang the back gates as they look a little off given the huge gap at the bottom (not pictured).  Excuse the poor quality of the yard...it's further down on my to-do list.

Beaner

A beer label design.  A friend of mine's dad brews the best I've ever had and I look forward to it every Christmas.  I tried to get him to pursue bottling it (like many before me) but he never budged.  I made this label for him hoping to entice him into a larger scale production but he's not interested.  We are all missing out.

It's been a busy week as I've been putting up a privacy fence.  It's over a 144' long and I had to have my mom come out and look after Lil so I could get some work done.  All I have left are finishing touches.  Thanks, Mom.

Also, I need to thank Private Ed for posting my cartoon on his blog.  He must've seen me on skineart.
